Day 1: Cape Town to Franschhoek

Depart the Cape Town CBD and visit the renowned wine estates in the Franschhoek valley and in Stellenbosch. We recommend lodging at Auberge La Dauphine for the evening.

Day 2: Franschhoek to Outdshoorn

Head for Route 62 and explore some of South Africa’s most iconic historic towns on your way to Oudtshoorn. We recommend lodging at Fosters Manor.

Day 3: Oudtshoorn to Tsitsikamma

After enjoying a visit to an ostrich farm in Oudtshoorn, head for the Garden Route and enjoy the Knysna Heads and an evening of stargazing.

Day 4: Tsitsikamma to Addo Elephant National Park

Visit the indigenous Tsitsikamma Forest, walk the swing fridge over the Storms River Mouth and jump from the highest bungee jump in the world, at your own expense. Then, head for the wildlife of Addo Elephant National Park.

Day 5: Addo Elephant National Park to Hogsback

The Addo Elephant National Park offers a unique wildlife experience. Here, you will be able to experience game drives in search of elephants, black rhino, lion and buffalo, to name a few. Evening game drives can be enjoyed at a flood lit waterhole, where you will be able to sight the nocturnal wildlife of the park. Once you’re done, head for Hogsback.

Day 6-7: Hogsback to Cradock

The beautiful village of Hogsback lies in the Amathole Mountain Range. This mystical community offers a range of activities for you to enjoy. Your next stop will be Cradock in the Karoo.

Day 8: Cradock to Burgersdorp

In Cradock, you will be able to explore the rich heritage of the town and experience the traditional Karoo hospitality. Visit Mountain Zebra National Park, while you’re at it.

Travel to the Eastern Cape region and stop for a break at Burgersdorp, a small town with 10 National Monuments.  We recommend staying the night at the Jubilee Hotel.

Day 9: Burgersdorp to Lesotho

Start the morning early and cross the border into Lesotho. Enjoy your day at leisure or experience pony-trekking through the scenic landscapes Lesotho has on offer.

Day 10: Lesotho to Drakensberg

Head for the border again and aim to spend two nights at the Didima Lodge, which will enable you to explore this majestic area.

Day 11-12: Drakensberg to Zululand

Leave the Drakensberg and head towards Zululand via Ladysmith. Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve is well-known for being a safe haven for the white rhino. Clear up your afternoon and the following morning for game drives and wildlife sighting.

Day 13: Zululand to Eswatini

Cross the border into Eswatini and spend the night at Mlilwane Royal National Park. Make time to explore the Kingdom of Eswatini and experience its rich heritage, lifestyle, and culture.

Day 14-15: Eswatini to Kruger National Park

Cross back into South Africa and pay a visit to Kruger National Park, where you’ll be able to see the Big Five and other wildlife.

Day 16-17: Kruger National Park to Pilgrims Rest

After breakfast, travel via the Panorama Route and all its waterfalls to get to Pilgrims Rest, a historic mining town with plenty of character.

Day 18: Pilgrims Rest to Johannesburg

Head west towards Gauteng and Johannesburg, exploring Mpumalanga along the way.
