The Ultimate South Africa 4×4 Self-Drive Holiday
“This is a 20-day tour, which departs from Cape Town or Johannesburg. On this tour, you will be able to see an array of destinations, from Kruger National Park to the Tsitsikamma National Park “.
Day 1: Johannesburg to Pilgrims Rest
When departing from Johannesburg, head east towards Mpumalanga. Mpumalanga embraces the southern half of the Kruger National Park. It is recommended to lodge in the town of Pilgrims rest for the night.

Day 2-3: Pilgrims Rest to Kruger National Park
After breakfast, travel via the Panorama Route, before heading for the majestic Kruger National Park. Here, you will have the opportunity to go on the most exciting game drives, where you will be able to spot the Big Five amongst other wildlife.

Day 4-5: Kruger National Park to Eswatini
The Kingdom of Eswatini is a serene mountainous region, led by King Mswati III, and happens to be one of three monarchies in the world. Here, you will be able to experience its rich heritage, lifestyle, and culture. In central Eswatini, you will have the opportunity to explore the Mlilwane Royal National Park.

Day 6: Swaziland to Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve
Travel from the Mlilwane National Park to the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve, in Zululand, which is well-known for being a safe haven for the white rhino. Clear up your afternoon and the following morning for game drives and wildlife sighting.

Day 7-8: Zululand to Drakensberg
After breakfast, travel via Ladysmith to the picturesque Drakensberg Mountains. It is recommended that you spend two nights at the Didima Lodge, which will enable you to explore this majestic area.

Day 9: Drakensberg to Lesotho
After breakfast, cross the border to Lesotho and travel along the western border of Lesotho. You will eventually arrive at the Malealea Lodge. It is recommended that you spend two nights at the lodge, which will give you enough time to experience its breathtaking scenery and explore traditional Basotho life.

After breakfast, you have the option to enjoy your day at leisure or experience pony-trekking through the scenic landscapes Lesotho has on offer.

Day 11: Lesotho to Burgersdorp
Start the morning early and cross the border back into South Africa. Travel to the Eastern Cape region and stop for a break at Burgersdorp, a small town with 10 National Monuments. We recommend staying the night at the Jubilee Hotel.

Day 12: Burgersdorp to Cradock
Continue traveling to the historical Karoo town of Cradock. Here, you will be able to explore the rich heritage of the town and experience the traditional Karoo hospitality. Visit Mountain Zebra National Park, while you’re at it. We recommend lodging in the Cape Mountain Zebra National Park.

Day 13-14: Cradock to Hogsback
After breakfast, enjoy another game drive than depart from the Karoo and enter the Eastern Cape region to the beautiful village of Hogsback in the Amathole Mountain Range. This mystical community offers a range of activities for you to enjoy.

Day 15: Hogsback to Addo Elephant National Park
The Addo Elephant National Park offers a unique wildlife experience. Here, you will be able to experience game drives in search of elephants, black rhino, lion and buffalo, to name a few. Evening game drives can be enjoyed at a flood lit waterhole, where you will be able to sight the nocturnal wildlife of the park.

Day 16: Addo Elephant National Park to Tsitsikamma
Depart from the Addo Elephant National Park and travel west to the world-renowned Garden Route. Here, you will be able to visit the indigenous Tsitsikamma Forest, walk the swing fridge over the Storms River Mouth and jump from the highest bungee jump in the world, at your own expense.

Day 18: Tsitsikamma to Oudtshoorn
After visiting the Knysna Heads, travel to a Ostrich farm in Oudtshoorn and enjoy your last evening of stargazing in the Garden Route. We recommend lodging at Fosters Manor.

Day 19: Oudtshoorn to Franschhoek
After exploring the Garden Route, continue your trip on the R62 through the most historical towns, before entering Cape Town, over the Franschhoek pass. We recommend lodging at Auberge La Dauphine for the evening.

Day 20: Franschhoek to Cape Town
After breakfast, visit the renowned wine estates in the Franschhoek valley and in Stellenbosch, before travelling in to the CBD of Cape Town.

Day 1: Maun
When you arrive at Maun International Airport, you will be able to collect your 4WD land cruiser and proceed to drive to your lodge of choice.

Day 2-3: Moremi Game Reserve
Proceed to travel under your own arrangement from Maun to Xakanaxa Campsite. The campsite has a ablution block, showers, hand basins and toilets. It is also the best location to enjoy the wildlife of the Moremi Game Reserve.

Day 4-5: Khwai Concession
After breakfast, proceed to Khwai Campsite near the Khwai Concession. Situated on the banks of the Khwai River. The campsite is perfect for wildlife viewing and has a ablution facility.

Day 6-7: Chobe National Park
Journey from Khwai to Savuti, the area which forms part of the Chobe National Park. The Savuti campsite is located along the Savute Channel and is popular for being the ultimate campsite for safari enthusiasts. The sit has two ablution blocks with hot and cold running showers.

Day 8-9: Chobe National Park
After breakfast, journey from Savuti to Ihaha campsite, which is located on the Chobe River. Home to the highest concentration of elephants in Africa, here you will be able to see these majestic animals coming to enjoy the river bank.

Day 10: Kasane
Here, you will be able to leisure through the park to the town of Kasane. When you arrive at Chobe Safari Lodge, located on the banks of the Chobe River, return your rental vehicle and enjoy the rest of your day at leisure. At the lodge, you have the option to enjoy the game drives or a tranquil boat cruise down the river.

Day 11-12: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
After breakfast, continue the journey to cross the border into Zimbabwe. Your rental vehicle will be required to be returned in Botswana, or it can be collected at the lodge. You may than enjoy a scheduled transfer to the Victoria Falls.

Day 13: Departure
You will be transferred to Victoria Falls International Airport on your own account, in time for further arrangements.
